Jazz up frozen waffles or pancakes with this easy-to-make fruit topping. It’s also delicious on frozen yogurt for an indulgent, simple dessert.

Total Time: 10 minutes Yield: 1 serving
2 frozen lowfat whole- grain waffles or pancakes
1 teaspoon trans-fat-free 67% vegetable oil butter spread
¼ cup sugar-free maple flavored syrup
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ⁄ 8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 ⁄ 8 teaspoon imitation rum flavoring (optional)
1 small banana, peeled and cut diagonally into ½-inch-thick slices
Powdered sugar (optional)

1. Heat waffles in toaster as directed on package.

2. Meanwhile, melt butter spread over medium-low heat in small skillet. Stir in syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and, if desired, rum flavoring. Add banana and gently stir until coated with syrup mixture. Cook about 1 minute or until banana is heated through.

3. To serve, stack waffles on plate. Spoon banana mixture on top. If desired, lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar as a garnish.
